A little About Charlie Dawson

Charlie Dawson is an Entertainer based in the state of Massachusetts, USA.  He is from the Singer/Songwriter mold .   He plays multiple musical instruments including acoustic/electric 6 & 12 string guitars, mandolin, 5 string banjo, ukulele, saxophone and a few others.

It's no wonder that Charlie Dawson is such an outstanding entertainer, much of his musical ability was inherited from his dad, a popular country singer during the 1930's and 40's who performed using the name 'Lucky Dawson'.  Charlie's musical education began in grammar school back in his home town of Salem, Massachusetts with piano lessons and playing saxophone in the concert band.   While in high school, he developed a proficiency with a variety of instruments as well continuing saxophone, guitar and singing professionally in local pop groups.  After high school Charlie continued his education at Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, majoring in guitar.   Charlie has served in the US Army and Massachusetts Army National Guard and graduated from the Massachusetts Military Academy serving as a Second Lieutenant ..  He holds an Amateur Radio Extra Class radio license (W1CPR) and a private pilots license.  

Following the 9/11 tragedy Charlie was asked to join the FEMA Urban Search & Rescue group as a member of Massachusetts Task Force One based in Beverly, MA ( www.matf.org )  Charlie holds official certifications in multiple disciplines to include  Communications Specialist levels, (COMM S, COMM L, COMM T, COMM N)   He is also a certified FEMA Plans Manager and Tech Information specialist.  Charlie also volunteers as member of the United States Air Force Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS) providing long range communications to support our deployed active and reserve military personnel.

Charlie has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico Ireland and Scotland while performing in top night clubs, concert performances and television shows.  Among many others, he has spent 11 years as a featured entertainer for such cruise lines as Sundance Cruise Line, Admiral Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.  Charlie has also been a feature performer at the Alaska State Fair (Haines, AK), WCVB's "Good Day Show", Danvers Family Festival, (Danvers, MA), Pickering Wharf Concert Series, (Salem, MA), The Hopkinton State Fair (Contoocook, NH), Tunbridge Worlds Fair, (Tunbridge VT),and WBOS Concerts at the Esplanade on the Charles. (Boston, MA)

Currently Charlie is very active performing for Senior citizen centers, Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes and Alzheimer treatment facilities throughout the Northeast.  Charlie also shares his songs/stories and humor at a local VA hospital near his home.  He is also involved with Brack Tours Ireland bringing tour groups to Ireland & Scotland
